I was so close on seeing if it was okay by mom for me to go to FurCon.. the only thing that stopped me was the "it's too far" remark. That stopped me dead in my tracks. True... while San Jose is apparently 6 hours and 42 minutes away, I think I can drive that distance. And it would be a new experience. I know dad wouldn't like it there. "Oh look at the freaks. How can you identify yourself with those freaks. Blah blah blah!" And I know he'll say it, too! It's predictable from his personality. Hell, he can't even stand going to a ComicCon without bitching about a cosplayer or whatever. "Ha ha. Look at that geek/nerd/freak." RAGH! I'm sick of how every single time there's a person who wants to express his or her extent of a fandom by dressing up as a character from or related to the fandom dad always has to comment on it. Does he think that they aren't doing it for anything else besides dress up? Sure, some might. But it's all in spirit of a con. It's like Halloween, minus the candy and other treats. I really do want a fursuit...
